What is a podger and what is it used for?

A podger sometimes known as a podger spanner or a scaffold wrench usually has a tapered point at one end and a wrench on the other. Quite often it has a reversible socket to tighten or loosen nuts. Podger tools are commonly used for erecting scaffolding, frameworks and other steel structures.
